Boom Blox Bash Party

Recently I have been playing Boom Blox Bash Party for the Wii. It was released back in 2009 so I am a bit late to the party but so far it is a total blast to play. The idea is that you have a ball  (there are a number of different balls with different properties) and you have to throw the ball and in the least number of throws knock down a certain number of crystal blocks. On the surface it doesn't sound so engaging but if you were to actually play it is very enjoyable, so much so that my wife who doesn't play games played for two hours straight the other day. It has over 400 levels that ship with the game and as you can download countless additional levels for the game I believe you get quite the bang for your buck...as a great price now that the game can generally be found in the discount section! If you have a Wii and have not had a chance to play this yet I highly suggest picking it up. Anyway, for those interested a trailer:

Baby Savers Beta Released!

I got into the Baby Savers beta!

I received an email yesterday informing me that I was in and that the beta will work through September 3rd. I have spent about a half hour or so on it so far and barring a few glitches (which I attribute to my phone and not the game) it works quite well. As soon as I have some free time I will do a more in depth posting review with either screenshots or a video.

Baby Savers: The most fun you can have saving babies from a burning building.

Hi, for those of you new to this site (which at this point is most everyone) I like games. I like board games, I like computer games, I like card games, and I like phone games. I will probably be playing games until they day they roll me into the grave which means I am always looking for something new. It's easy to find new games for the computer and my Playstation 3, they come out all the time. The same for board games and for card games, well, you just pick up a deck and play. The hardest place to find new (and good) games is on the phone...or more specifically on the type of phone I have.

I have a HTC Hero from Sprint running the Android operating system. It is a wonderful phone with wonderful features but one of the few places Android falls short is in the games category. It's not that there are no games on the Android Market...it's just that it is very hard to find good games. So in an effort to bring good games to the top I will on occasion draw attention to a game that is either being created for Android or already available for Android.

The game I currently wish to highlight is Baby Savers it is currently in development by Fat Hat Games and is actively looking for beta testers. As of now the game is only for the Android OS but at a later date there may be a port to the iPhone. The idea of the game is quite simple, using your finger you control a pair of firefighters and try to catch babies as they are tossed from a burning building (tossed to safety...hopefully). I was able to try out a pre-beta build of Baby Savers a few weeks ago and it is coming along quite well. The screenshots below and the game description show off the game more than I could describe so take a look and then hop over to the Baby Savers website to sign up for their beta, good luck.
Baby Savers is a modern remake of the classic 1984 2D arcade DOS game “Bouncing Babies” by Dave Baskin. Players take on the role of a pair of firefighters holding a trampoline. Babies are flung from the windows of a burning building down to the street below, and the firemen must bounce the babies across the screen and safely into an ambulance. One point is awarded for each baby saved, and one life is lost for each baby lost.
